"Effects of Sin on God's creation and God's Reaction" - Genesis 4:1-11:9

• Along with despair, there is hope
  • Man chooses to sin
  • God doesn't give up entirely on mankind
    • there is hope
  • Desires to have relationship with man
  • Gen. 3:22-24 "like one of us", "also"
  • Rev. 22:2, 14, 17-19
• Cain and Abel
  • 2 different brothers - raised in same home
  • 2 types of offerings - pleasing / not pleasing - an offering of the fruit (Lev. 2), / firstborn of flock
  • God had regard v.4 / no regard v.5
  • V.7 sins desire is for (against) you, but you must rule over it
  • Cain chose wrongly / God's reaction v.11-13
• The choice that led to the flood
  • 6:5-7 "Every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually"
  • 6:11-13, 7:21-24 "make an end to all flesh"
  • 6:8 But Noah, v.9, 14, 17, 22, 7:5, 16
  • 8:1, 15-19, 9:1-3, 8-17 "God remembered Noah"
• Tower of Babel
  • 11:4 "Let us build ourselves" "Let us make a name for ourselves"
  • Wanted to put themselves in charge
  • 11:7 Let us
• Lessons Learned
  • Children can be raised in the same home but turn out differently
  • We must do things God's way and not our way (Cain and Abel)
  • Godly children can come from ungodly parents
  • We are not alone in following God (Noah)
  • God looks out for those who follow him (Noah)
  • God keeps his promises (rainbow)
  • Taks go undone when we are not united (Babel) 11:8
