Revelation 17-19
Summary of last class:
The last time we met we read of the fall of Babylon/Rome (Rev. 17-18). Rome was described by John as a prostitute who had deceived the nations, but one who would meet her demise suddenly. John sees the great prostitute being cast into the sea never to rise again. When Rome (described here as Babylon) fell the nations who depended on her for survival/prosperity would lament profusely, those who received her mark would be punished, and the righteous would have reason to rejoice. Chapter 19 is a window into the rejoicing that took place by the church once her enemy was removed by God.
Questions for chapter 19
- What do those in heaven cry out (19:1-2)?
- Who is commanded to give God praise (19:5)?
- What are the garments for the bride of Christ (19:7-8)?
- Who is invited to the marriage supper of the lamb (19:9)?

Barriers on the Roadway to Being Lost
Humans need to act, or we will be doomed to follow the path leading to an eternity in hell. Luckily God has provided a number of barriers on our way. Some of these are the Bible, our conscience, our church family, and the cross of Calvary. These roadblocks provide us a time for reflection on our actions and allow us to refocus ourselves on the Lord.
